Curiosity on Koh Chang

vines of verdure
tangle to a stop
bare roots

Blue ocean meets black rocks in a line of foaming white. Lean grey monkeys leave the jungle on the cliff top and scramble cautiously down ledges. The younger ones seem most eager to be at the surf line. Periodically, they pause to stare at the waves. Most gather on a point that juts into swells. Some of the troop watch from the shade above.

I wonder, do they know that beneath the sea in beds of coral are giant clams with iridescent mantles of indigo, green and purple? Do they know that yellow, red and blue Christmas tree worms forest on heads of coral? Do they see and marvel at a blushing octopus under the crests?
