The Desert Stillness

There is a belated sense of modern civilization in this extensive desert. The long moved-on old culture is reflected in the scattered petroglyphs and the landscape they had so well adapted to. On the edges are remnants of the newer culture.

The most ambitious human reclamation project is the active military training ground laced into the desert's interior.

Yet for the most part a purity of stillness permeates this desert even where outposts of human presence are felt.
