Davis is on the chaise lounge, which belongs to Lydia by way of her Venetian grandmother. Reading the Sunday Times he mutters, "There's an article in here about a folded clock."

Lydia looks up from her book and asks, “An article about a folded cock?" She had lived in Japan with her first husband and has a fondness for origami.

Davis raises his voice, "Clock, clock. A folded clock. Like Salvador Dali." He jumps up and begins poking at the fire. Lydia returns to her book.
