Knossos

I stand a long time in front of a vaulting Minoan youth and marvel at bird-headed goddesses, a shaman-like ceremony of a dancer and musicians, and goddesses holding snakes in each stretched-out hand, the remains of an ancient culture. I am overwhelmed at historical time and mythic time at Knossos itself: clouds in a fresco and above it, a gathering cloud gathering light, and growing almost everywhere, capers.
