Trapped Girl As A Turtle

Having risked sniper fire to bring home a loaf of bread she has purchased with her necklace; then having dropped it to run from the fug of the street, she becomes a turtle running the gauntlet to the freedom of the sea. And she runs for her life, leaving dead brothers and sisters beneath a pool of wings. But she is flipped over by a gull that is joined by others. She is stripped of identity and she is unable to move. The calls of the gulls are blows. The shadows of the gulls is the darkness that never leaves. Her soft torso is torn and her beauty is erased. Her blood seeps into the golden blotting paper of beach in a place called Paradise. The sun burns to a soft orange and dries a plethora of pearls. With passing time she becomes a small, hard shell far from the open sea.
