Have You Noticed?

Trees speak with different accents in the wind. Bird song comes in different shapes. Water growls when rippling on uneven stones. Car engines pitch an octave higher in the drive. Words, softly spoken, taste of marshmallows. Pedestrian crossings smell of elderly shoes, kids' shirt tails, sweaty collars. Kerbs jolt, fences splinter, cycles skid. The blind see things differently.
