The Bull

The bull with the huge hump could be a Harappan clay seal come alive. Its eyes look bloodshot as it stares down the traffic from the middle of the road, majestically ignoring the impatient car horns. The pink gash on its hindquarters has not completely scarred over yet. I fancy that I can hear a swish as it dispatches the flies with a flick of its tail. Then it lowers itself into a comfortable resting position. The traffic snakes around it, and by the roadside a dusty bougainvillea sheds its red.
