Gros Morne

We’re talking billions of years here, the primeval ocean, continents drifting and colliding. The earth’s mantle thrust up from beneath the waters to form these tablelands. We’re talking plate tectonics, granite cliffs surrounding landlocked fjords, Ordovician fossils, glacial scouring. Bare orange mountains loom through the rain, their mineral-rich soil hostile to vegetation. In the shallow hollows of my eyes, an ache. I can no longer care for any of you.
