It's a Dream

she sneaks her teeth into a wastebasket
that nobody checks or shakes
she sleeps unattended then
can't find the way back
no angels help her
she envies contrails
no longer prays
says she doesn't care
says she's not scared
(it's the place–you can't wait to leave)
can't chew solids forgets to walk
forgets night and seasons
wants to come with you
(you make excuses )
everything done undone nothing left
everything given back
minus the loss of her voice
the money she leaves

no moon . . .
we donate
her eyeglasses
