The New Editorial Staff of Haibun Today

Haibun Today is pleased to announce the following changes and additions to its editorial staff.

Jeffrey Woodward, General Editor

Queries about matters other than manuscript submission should be directed to Jeffrey Woodward, General Editor, at haibun.today@gmail.com

Glenn G. Coats and Ray Rasmussen, Haibun Editors

During Glenn G. Coats' 34-year teaching career, he taught first-through fifth-grade students as well as Reading Recovery (an intervention for first graders who have difficulty learning to read and write). Glenn now serves as the Tutor Trainer for Tri-County Life Learners in Farmville, Virginia where he teaches adults how to tutor others in reading and writing. He writes articles about literacy and stories for beginning readers for several web sites located in Virginia. He writes haiku because it is his way of responding to the world—to print, conversations, back roads, insomnia and nature. Glenn and his wife Joani have three children and four grandsons.

Ray Rasmussen, a retired university professor, lives in Edmonton, Canada. His haibun, haiku, haiga and articles have been published in the major haiku genre journals and his work has been included in the Red Moon Anthology, Contemporary Haibun and the British Haiku Society Haibun Annuals. He co-founded Contemporary Haibun Online and currently serves as haibun editor for A Hundred Gourds. In the past, he served as haiga editor at Simply Haiku and haibun editor at Notes from the Gean.

Submissions of no more than three unpublished haibun that are not currently under consideration elsewhere should be forwarded to Glenn G. Coats and Ray Rasmussen, Haibun Editors, at hthaibun@gmail.com

Claire Everett, Tanka Prose Editor

Claire Everett's haiku, tanka and more recently tanka prose, have appeared in many of the short-form poetry journals worldwide. She was a contributing poet for cycle 11 (spring/summer 2011) of the online journal Daily Haiku and is also delighted to be a member of the editorial team for Take Five 4: Best Contemporary Tanka, 2011. Claire's interest in tanka prose increased when she was invited by M. Kei to conduct an in-depth interview with Jeffrey Woodward for Atlas Poetica 9 (July 2011) discussing the history and practice of tanka prose. Claire lives with her husband and five children in County Durham, England and draws most of her inspiration from walks on the North Yorkshire Moors and in the Lake District.

Submissions of no more than three unpublished tanka prose that are not currently under consideration elsewhere should be forwarded to Claire Everett, Tanka Prose Editor, at httankaprose@gmail.com

Patricia Prime, Reviews Editor

She has interviewed poets and editors for Takahe and for the online magazines Haiku NewZ, Simply Haiku, Haibun Today, Stylus, and for print journals. Patricia writes haiku, tanka, haibun and tanka prose and has published her poetry worldwide. She has also been a member of the editorial team of Take Five: Best Contemporary Tanka from 2008 to 2011. Her poetry, interviews and reviews were published in the World Poetry Almanac (Mongolia) in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
