The afternoon turns cool, but we remain for the sunset. A promise made earlier by the weatherman. A clear day, clear of smog, clear of clouds, clear of problems. No. That wasn't promised, but that's how I feel at this moment.

lapping waves
the hypnotic swoosh and shush
shut out the world
except for the here and now
and a future of hope

my hand in his
night comes whispering
on a sea breeze
love blows between us
in rhythm with the waves
