This is not a love song

but I wish to be in your arms even at this old age. Your voice still has that tint of joy and goodness over the phone, and I can feel your breasts calling me.

a handful
of rich creamy rose
its scent modest
with a tentative move
my nose is in its middle

I was happy to be fed. Food transformed into love given freely, our only attachment during days when you had to slip away from work to look after your babe who refused any other food.

the silk swaddles
and I inhale peace
a shimmering land
through the slit of my eyes
visions of Mother

I’m so glad you're still here in this body. So I can hold you and prepare myself for the inevitable, when you float away on a raft into the pastel sky.
