My $2 Monet . . .

reminds me of that time I snuck into a sold-out show, walked right past guards in the crowd, the day before the exhibit closed. I should have known better (holiday weekend + famous Impressionist = big crowd), but it was a last-minute impulse. The galleries were packed with camera hogs, planted before a painting and taking not 1 or 2 shots but 7 or 8 while never actually looking at the original with unaided eyes. Why not spend a minute on the brushwork, the composition? I won’t even go on about parents with their strollers banging ankles or people frozen in front of wall texts or those with headsets who block others from close viewings.
