On a busy trail with majestic views I am part way up a steep section where the trail is narrowed considerably. Just ahead an older woman is beckoning me and pointing to the wildflowers in first spring blooming, bright pink/red alpenrose, white daisies, purple gentian. She points to an insect that is as lovely as she says it is among the blossoms beside her feet. The insect's bright orange wings echo the orange mountain dandelion. I remain awhile to absorb such beauty.
