Generations Pass

When my first haiku was published in The Heron’s Nest, I received a handwritten postcard with congratulations and a short commentary on my poem. The signature was unfamiliar and I casually placed it between two journals. Only later did I realize the card was from a man who had written haiku since the 1960s. Recently when reading his “In Memoriam,” I searched all my shelves and between every journal page for Tom Tico’s note, but I can’t find it.
